Updated: July 4 2005 CO-WRITING, OR WHAT PASSES FOR A BUSINESS SECTION at this site. If you're here chances are you write or compose and are looking to see what this co-writing thing is all about. Basically I'm looking to collaborate either by writing, playing or producing music with other people. As the saying goes "No man is an island" and I figure while I'm pretty capable of coming up with songs myself I think in many cases the results are better when I work with others. ANY KIND OF MUSIC IS GOOD MUSIC as far as I'm concerned. I'll admit that I favour some kinds over others and am particularly partial to blues but I have dabbled in lots of styles and found something to like in all of 'em. (Well that's not quite true, can't say I care much for polka) So essentially what I'm saying here is I'm wide open as to what I'll stylistically get involved in. If you check my songs page you can listen to some currently posted music. That's by no means a complete catalog (far from it) and highly dependant on what I'm currently pitching or working on, plus lack of server space. But it should give you an idea of what's up. LIVE IF YOU'RE CLOSE, INTERNET IF YA AIN'T and some way some how we should be able to make things happen. All depends on what you think you might need from me. I'm open to pretty much anything from full blown collaboration to helping you rework your already written songs. As well if you've got a "voice" and are looking for someone to write for your sound I'd consider that a very worthwhile project. And last but not least I play a range of instruments as well as program drums, engineer and produce so that's another possibility. If you're located far from me we can exchange files via the internet and if you're close we can probably work things out to get together. WHAT I WANT FROM YOU IS cold hard cash (my favourite), or monstorous publicity, or a meaningful skills exchange, or a very attractive woman. Just like most anyone my plate's pretty full and time is limited so you can probably see where I'm heading with this line of thought. If we do end up doing something there needs to be an end game in sight and some kind of payoff (hopefully for both of us). If you're releasing commercial product I'd naturally want whatever royalties and other perks that should be accorded. If you're doing something charitable like backing tracks for a documentary etc that would come under the "monstorous publicity" heading. Or maybe you're an already recognized artist who wants to step out side the box to work with new talent and can open some serious doors. As for the "very attractive woman" ... well I was just kidding sort of, but I wouldn't turn one down. I'VE GOT WHAT'S NEEDED AT MY END as far as equipment is concerned. Without many exceptions I'm responsible for just about everything in any of the songs found on this site when it comes to actual recording. Like 'em or hate 'em I'm both engineer and producer and all have passed through my studio on the way to the internet. I work with a pretty decent computer based setup and have a fair number of instruments to choose from, see my tools page for more info. And rather than spin more of a pitch I'll leave it to you to listen to the music and see my about page if you want a somewhat long winded personal look at me. If you want to start a dialog here's a contact email address ... ![]() |
