HOME Benjammin's Music Pages

WELCOME TO MY MUSIC PAGES where you can find free MP3 downloads of songs composed and performed by myself with some special guests from the Toronto music scene. The Delta Drivers My friends and I like to play just about anything from Blues to Classical and Country to Rock. Like all musicians we've got great big fat egos and want the world to listen so that's why there's a songs page. You'll also find some random musings as well as links to more great Canadian music.

NAVIGATING THIS SITE IS EASY just use the links that are on the left of every page. The top section takes you to pages for this site. And in case you're curious about the guitar in the background, yes that's real currency used for the finish. Check out my tools page to find out more about it and the rest of my gear. Below are links to sites for musician friends who in some way or other are connected to this site or the Toronto music scene. At the bottom are links for my other sites.

AND SPEAKING OF THE TORONTO MUSIC SCENE many of you have probably heard the immortal words of Mike Myers "The Gasworks! Always a babefest" from the motion picture Wayne's World. The Gasworks Well that was a real place and it defined a generation of Canadian hard rockers. I (mis)spent a lot of time there and because of my occupation was asked by management to film the closing day's events when the final call came. I got a lot of footage plus some extra goodies and I've put up a site where you can see some stills, maybe a few clips and find out more about some of the people and events surrounding The Gasworks.

THE FABULOUS KILLER TOMATOES ARE TOGETHER AGAIN for the first time. It was way back in the mid 80s when two former members of 84 The Fabulous Killer Tomatoes (Craig McCracken and David "Gringo" Partridge) were looking to put together a new act. David was living at my place and we'd been in a band years before. So along with another room-mate (Mal "MT" Ryall) we found a place to jam and cranked 'er up. The popular cult movie Attack of the Killer Tomatoes had just been released so we adopted the Killer Tomatoes part of the name. As it turned out a few months later David and Craig went off to form the nucleous of Walter Ego and years passed. By the late 90s Craig was living in British Columbia but David, myself and "MT" started to get together for weekend jams. One thing led to another and wouldn't ya know it we ended up with a great CD. The act's been renamed to The Fabulous Killer Tomatoes and at that page you'll be able to hear what we've been up to now that we're together again - for the first time.

WALTER EGO'S SHOW WAS ALWAYS TWISTED FUN and the music was pretty damn good too. Walter Ego Back in the late 80s the glam rock scene was everywhere but Toronto based Walter Ego couldn't put on enough mascara to compete so they decided to be entertaining instead. If the audience wanted something to look at give 'em a show, not limpid looking boys with bulging crotches. And so their twisted little extravaganza was born complete with bare breasted gorillas and winos on park benches. After a few brushes with greatness and a CD release the core members disbanded. But like something that wouldn't die there's still life in the old corpse and I've got a page to prove it.

I'VE GOT MORE GREAT LINKS WITH MUSIC if you take a look around. After you've finished grabbing the tunes and checking out the pages at this site you should drop in on the other bands. My old high school chum and former bandmate Jeff Owen is now in Buffalo N.Y. working with Sideffect who have some pages for ya. Some friends from just east of Toronto have put together Big Dirty Spoon with a nice site where you can grab some songs.

DON'T FORGET TO CHECK OUT MY OTHER SITES If you haven't already been there go see The Gasworks pages for a blast from Canadian music history.
